Import Export Code - IEC Registration

All the Importers and Exporters of Goods and Services are required to register themselves with Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and obtain Importer Exporter Code (IEC). Importer Exporter Code once obtained have its existence throughout the lifespan of the entity. Importer Exporter Code can be obtained by Proprietorship, Partnership Firm, Private Limited, Public Limited, LLP, OPC or any other kind of businesses. There are no Annual Returns or Filings in regards to IEC. It is valid throughout the lifespan of entity so no renewal. Even an entity with no intention to import or export in near future can obtain IEC.
